Commercial Wood Flooring FAQs

Everything schools, halls, hospitality and other commercial clients ask us about sanding, repairing and installing wood floors with minimal disruption.

1.Can you work outside our opening hours?
Yes. We can make special arrangements to work evenings, weekends and during school holidays or shutdown periods so the work doesn't interrupt your day. We'll plan the schedule around your busiest times and key dates.
2.Can we stay open while you work?
Often, yes. We can phase the work so parts of your premises stay in use while we deal with others. For larger or noisier jobs we'll agree the best approach with you up front to keep disruption down.
3.Are you insured to work on commercial premises?
Yes, we carry public liability insurance as standard. We're happy to provide our certificate for your records before we start.
4.Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?
We don't directly provide RAMS, as each facility has its own required format and process. We're happy to work alongside your nominated risk assessor to support what you need, and we keep the work area clearly cordoned and safe while we're on site.
5.What kinds of commercial premises do you work in?
Schools, universities, sports halls, churches and halls, restaurants, care homes, hotels, pubs and bars, and shops, among others. If your floor is wood, we can almost certainly help.
6.How do you keep dust down in an occupied building?
Our sanding system captures up to 98% of airborne dust at the source, so there's minimal mess and far less disruption to staff, pupils, residents or customers.
7.Can you handle large floors like sports halls?
Yes. We're set up for large areas and heavy-traffic floors, including sports halls. We don't re-apply court line markings ourselves, so a separate arrangement would need to be made for those, but we'll talk through the right specification for how the space is used.
8.How hard-wearing are the finishes for heavy footfall?
We use commercial-grade, hard-wearing finishes built for heavy footfall. We'll recommend the right one based on how busy the floor is and what it needs to stand up to.
9.Do you offer ongoing maintenance?
Yes. We can set up a scheduled maintenance plan to keep commercial floors in good order and extend the time between full sandings. It's a cost-effective way to protect the floor and keep it looking its best.
10.How much notice do you need to book a project?
It depends on the size of the job and your available windows. Get in touch as early as you can, especially for holiday or shutdown periods, which tend to book up.
11.Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Otley and cover Leeds, Ilkley, Harrogate, Skipton, Bradford, York and the wider Yorkshire region.
