What information we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to your enquiry and provide our services.

Information you give us through our enquiry form or by contacting us:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (if you provide it)
  • Details about your floor, including approximate room dimensions and the service you’re interested in
  • Any photographs of your floor you choose to upload
  • Anything else you tell us in your message

Information we collect automatically when you visit the website:

  • Your IP address, browser type and device information
  • Pages you visit and how you interact with the site
  • This is collected through analytics cookies (see “Cookies and analytics” below)

We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

How we use your information and our lawful basis

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry, arrange a visit and provide you with a quote — our lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to potential customers.
  • Carry out the work and communicate with you about it — our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you.
  • Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it — our lawful basis is your consent (given through the cookie banner).

We will never sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies. Some are essential for the site to work; others help us understand how visitors use the site.

We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to collect anonymous statistics such as how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found us. These analytics cookies are only set with your consent.

We use a cookie consent tool (WPConsent) to ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set, and to let you review or change your cookie preferences at any time. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Product links

Some pages (for example our aftercare guide) contain links to wood floor care products sold by Granwax. If any of these are affiliate links and you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, and Granwax may set its own cookies. We only recommend products we would use ourselves. Granwax’s use of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Who we share your information with

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with trusted third parties who help us run our business, and only as far as necessary:

  • Our website host and the company that maintains our website, Brandwin Digital, as our service provider.
  • Google, for website analytics.
  • Our email provider, which receives and stores enquiries sent through the form.
  • Professional advisers or authorities where we are legally required to share information.

Some of these providers (such as Google) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards approved under UK data protection law (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations).

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and provide our services. For enquiries that don’t lead to work, we keep your details for up to 24 months after our last contact. For completed jobs, we keep records for up to 6 years, in line with tax, warranty and other legal requirements. After these periods, we securely delete your information.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your information (where we’re not required to keep it)
  • Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information
  • Ask us to transfer your information to another provider
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email us at jack@evowoodflooring.com and we’ll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
