Wood Floor Sanding & Restoration Across Yorkshire

A tired, scratched or greying wooden floor rarely needs replacing. It needs reviving.

We sand floors to restore their original beauty and finish them to last.

WOOD FLOOR SANDING & RESTORATION

Bring a tired floor back to life

Years of wear, scratches, water marks and old, flaking finishes can make a beautiful floor look past its best. Sanding removes all of that and takes the floor back to clean timber, so we can refinish it to look as good as new. In most cases it costs far less than replacing the floor, and the results are striking.

We sand and restore all kinds of wooden floors:
  • Solid wood floors: oak, ash, pine and other solid hardwood floors, sanded back to bare timber and refinished.
  • Original and Victorian floorboards: period pine and original floorboards, sanded and restored to their natural character.
  • Parquet and herringbone: block, parquet and herringbone floors, sanded and finished to pattern.
  • Engineered wood: engineered boards with enough wear layer to sand and refinish.
  • Reclaimed and character timber: reclaimed and salvaged floors brought back to life.

See it for yourself

98%

DUST CAPTURED

CLEAN & LOW-DISRUPTION

Our dust-free sanding

Floor sanding has a reputation for mess, but ours doesn’t deserve it. We use a dust-free system that captures up to 98% of airborne dust at the source, so there’s no fine layer settling through your home. It’s cleaner, healthier, and means most customers carry on living at home while we work.

THE FINISH

Finishes that protect and last

Once the floor is smooth and clean, we apply a hard-wearing finish, usually several coats of water-based lacquer. These finishes are tough enough for daily family life, low in odour and VOCs, and bring out the natural character of the wood. We’ll help you choose the right finish and sheen for how the room is used and the look you’re after.

Wood floor sanding and finishing in Leeds by Evo Wood Flooring
Will sanding remove scratches, dents and pet stains?
Sanding takes off the worn top layer, so most scratches, dents and surface marks disappear. Stains that have soaked deep into the grain may need a board repair, which we can do at the same time.
Lacquer or oil: which finish should I choose?
For busy, high-traffic rooms we usually recommend a hard-wearing waterborne lacquer. For a softer, more natural look, a hardwax oil. We'll match the finish to how the room is used.
Can you change the colour of my floor?
Yes. Once the floor is sanded back to bare wood, we can apply a stain or finish to lighten, darken or change its tone before sealing it.

SUSTAINABILITY

A more sustainable choice

Restoring a floor is one of the greenest choices you can make. Sanding and refinishing gives decades more life to decorative floors that are already in your home, with none of the waste or carbon of tearing it out and starting again. The finishes we use are water-based, low-VOC and solvent-free, so there’s less odour while we work and better air quality long after we’ve left. Looked after well, a restored floor stays beautiful for years before it needs doing again.

● Restore, don’t replace ● Low-VOC, solvent-free finishes ● GREENGUARD Gold certified options
