Choosing a floor is a big decision, and it’s much easier with the wood in your hand. We work with trusted local suppliers of high-quality boards and finishes, and we can arrange samples to be sent to you so you can see the colour, grain and texture in your own light before you commit. We’ll talk you through the options and help you find what suits your room, your subfloor and the way you live.
Solid or engineered wood: which should I choose?
Engineered wood suits most modern homes and copes better over underfloor heating. Solid wood is traditional and can be sanded more times over its life. We'll advise based on your subfloor and how the room is used.
Can you fit a new floor over concrete or an existing floor?
Often yes, as long as the subfloor is sound, level and dry. Careful subfloor preparation is what makes a floor last, so we always check it first.
How long does a wood floor installation take?
It varies from job to job. Room size, the type and complexity of the flooring, subfloor condition and any prep work all affect the timeline, so there's no single answer that fits every project. What we can promise is that we'll always give you a realistic idea of the expected timescale before we start, and keep you updated as the work progresses.

We look at your subfloor, moisture levels and how the room is used, and advise honestly on the best approach.

Materials & samples
Choose your boards and finish, with samples arranged so you can see them in the room first.

Acclimatisation
The wood settles in your property before fitting, so it behaves once it's down.

Preparation
The subfloor is thoroughly inspected, cleaned and made ready, the step most problems come down to.

Installation
Boards laid precisely, to pattern where needed, with care around edges, thresholds and stairs.

Finishing
Sanded and finished with low-VOC products, or pre-finished boards protected and handed over clean.

Commercial installation
We install wood floors for businesses as well as homes, including offices, shops, restaurants, bars, showrooms and public buildings. We work around your opening hours, with evenings and weekends by arrangement, so a new floor doesn’t mean closing your doors. Hard-wearing specification, properly prepared and built to take the footfall.
